The first WTGL season gets started Sunday. Who is playing, and what can you expect when the new league tees off?

The inaugural Women's Team Golf League season tees off Sunday at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The opening match features Los Angeles Golf Club facing New York Golf Club, with New York's Rose Zhang hitting the first swing in WTGL history. Five teams of five golfers will compete in a round-robin format, with the top four advancing to the playoffs.
Each 15-hole match consists of nine alternate-shot holes and six singles holes. Competitions feature a 40-second shot clock with a pulsing heartbeat audio cue at 15 seconds, tactical timeout allowances, point-doubling hammer throws, and 50-inch digital caddie touchscreens. A soccer-style closest-to-the-pin shootout resolves any regulation ties on the 15th hole.
