2026 Houston Astros Season in Review

The Houston Astros concluded their 2026 campaign by capturing the American League West division title with an 81-81 record, edging out the Texas Rangers by one game. Despite recovering from a slow 20-31 start to make their 10th postseason appearance in 12 years under manager Joe Espada, Houston was swept in the Wild Card Series by the Chicago White Sox, falling 6-3 in Game 1 and 7-3 in Game 2.

Houston led the Major Leagues with 226 home runs, powered by five players reaching the 20-homer plateau, including designated hitter Yordan Alvarez with 42. The Astros demonstrated late-game stability by going 70-0 when leading after eight innings and secured their 10th consecutive Silver Boot over Texas with a 9-4 head-to-head record.
