Arizona Diamondbacks right-hander Corbin Burnes is not expected to require shoulder surgery after being placed on the injured list with shoulder inflammation. The 31-year-old pitcher stated on Monday that he is dealing with a tired shoulder rather than a new injury and expects to recover with rest while awaiting another medical opinion.
Burnes missed the final week of the season after making only three starts following his return from Tommy John surgery and a shoulder strain. Holding an opt-out clause worth $140 million on his seven-year contract, Burnes is widely expected to remain with Arizona for the 2027 season.
