The Athletics are moving on from hitting coach Chris Cron and quality control coach Marcus Jensen, reports Martin Gallegos of MLB.com. The club is pursuing replacements for both positions.
The Athletics are parting ways with hitting coach Chris Cron and quality control coach Marcus Jensen, according to Martin Gallegos of MLB.com. The organization is actively seeking replacements for both roles on their major league coaching staff following a difficult offensive campaign.
Cron joined the Athletics organization in 2022, while Jensen has been with the franchise for two decades in various coaching and managerial roles. Oakland ranked 20th in scoring during the 2026 season despite playing at hitter-friendly Sutter Health Park, hampered in part by injuries to key hitters including Brent Rooker, Nick Kurtz, and Jacob Wilson.
