The Athletics will continue their search for a president of baseball operations after Sam Fuld declined an offer for the position, ESPN reported Saturday.
Philadelphia Phillies executive Sam Fuld has declined an offer to become the president of baseball operations for the Athletics, ESPN reported on Saturday. Fuld currently serves as the president of business operations for Philadelphia and will reportedly remain in his current role as the Athletics continue their leadership search.
The Athletics parted ways with general manager David Forst in August following a 64-98 season. Currently playing in Sacramento ahead of a planned 2028 move to Las Vegas, the team has identified Boston Red Sox assistant general manager Taylor Smith as a top candidate for the open role.
