The New York Yankees must address their bullpen after another early postseason exit, and ClutchPoints writer Jordan Llanes has identified a clear path forward.
ClutchPoints writer Jordan Llanes argued that the New York Yankees should pursue a major trade with the San Diego Padres for closer Mason Miller. Following an early postseason exit and the impending free agency of closer David Bednar, the Yankees face significant bullpen turnover heading into the 2027 season. Llanes proposed that general manager Brian Cashman contact Padres GM A.J. Preller to secure the dominant 28-year-old reliever.
According to the report, Llanes suggested a hypothetical trade package sending Will Warren, Jasson Dominguez, Elmer Rodriguez, and Rory Fox to San Diego. Miller led the National League with 38 saves in 2026 while posting a 1.67 ERA, and he remains under team control through 2029.
