The Baltimore Orioles just brought back Rece Hinds on a major league deal, although that isn't as disastrous as you may think.

The Baltimore Orioles have re-signed outfielder Rece Hinds to a major-league contract. Baltimore originally acquired the former Cincinnati Reds prospect at the trade deadline, but he struggled with a .523 OPS following the move. Birds Watcher's Eric Cole questions the signing given the club's existing roster inflexibility, as Hinds is completely out of minor-league options.
Cole notes that while Hinds struggles with high strikeout rates in the majors, the Orioles front office—led by Mike Elias and general manager Jared Banner—remains intrigued by his elite raw power. The writer suggests the deal carries relatively low financial risk, allowing Baltimore to move on easily if Hinds fails to produce.
