Baltimore Orioles manager Craig Albernaz seems to have really irritated one of the franchise's most well-respected legends.

Baltimore Orioles Hall of Famer Jim Palmer revealed on the BMore Baseball Podcast that manager Craig Albernaz ignored his advice regarding outfielder Colton Cowser. Palmer stated he texted Albernaz in February suggesting Cowser study Cody Bellinger to improve against left-handed pitchers and with runners in scoring position. When Palmer confronted Albernaz in August about the unanswered message, Albernaz dismissed it by stating it was easier to talk about changes than execute them.
Birds Watcher writer Matthew Swigonski argues that Palmer was justified in publicly criticizing Albernaz, noting that the manager has fallen out of favor with fans. Swigonski highlights Cowser's ongoing offensive struggles against left-handed pitching and in run-scoring situations, contending that Albernaz should have welcomed Palmer's input.
