The Braves' decision to start Chris Sale in Game 2 looms even larger.

Tarik Skubal delivered a dominant performance to guide the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 5-3 victory over the Atlanta Braves in Game 1 of the National League Division Series on Saturday. Skubal retired 18 of his final 21 batters over six strong innings, touching 101.1 mph in sweltering 100-degree heat at Dodger Stadium.
Offensively, the Dodgers capitalized on home runs from Teoscar Hernández, Kyle Tucker, and Max Muncy to secure the opening win. For the Braves, Sean Murphy hit a solo home run off Skubal, and Ozzie Albies added a two-run shot in the ninth inning, but Atlanta now faces an uphill battle against Los Angeles' formidable pitching rotation.
