Right-handed pitcher Seth Martinez has elected minor league free agency following a brief stint with the Boston Red Sox organization. The 32-year-old spent the majority of the season with Triple-A Worcester after signing a minor-league contract with Boston in January. Martinez made just one major-league appearance for the Red Sox in August before being designated for assignment and outrighted back to the minor leagues.

Over six major-league seasons, Martinez has logged a 6-6 record with a 4.03 ERA across 145 innings, primarily with the Houston Astros. Having also pitched briefly for the Miami Marlins in 2025, the veteran reliever is now on the open market seeking a new club ahead of the 2027 season.
