The Boston Red Sox acquired Caleb Durbin in the offseason to replace Alex Bregman, and now that the season is over, it may be easier to evaluate whether the Red Sox won the deal.
Baseball Now evaluates the offseason trade between the Boston Red Sox and Milwaukee Brewers, questioning whether Boston came out ahead. The Red Sox sent Kyle Harrison, David Hamilton, and Shane Drohan to Milwaukee in exchange for Caleb Durbin, Andruw Monasterio, and Anthony Seigler. After a slow start, Durbin rebounded by slashing .283/.368/.435 over his final 105 games.
Despite Durbin's strong recovery, Baseball Now argues the Red Sox may have surrendered too much value. The outlet notes that Harrison, Hamilton, and Drohan contributed significantly to Milwaukee securing the best record in baseball, giving the Brewers a potential edge in the long-term trade outcome.
