Garrett Crochet will join Red Sox for Wild Card series with roster status uncertain

Boston Red Sox pitcher Garrett Crochet has traveled with the team to Yankee Stadium for the Wild Card series. Crochet has been sidelined since April 25 and has not completed a minor-league rehab assignment due to the Triple-A season ending on September 20. Despite traveling with the club, his official roster status against the New York Yankees remains undecided.

Crochet stated on September 28 that he feels ready to pitch and is awaiting the final roster decision. While rehabbing teammates Johan Oviedo and Curtis Mead remained behind in Fort Myers, manager Chad Tracy confirmed Crochet's availability for the series is still up in the air.
