Carlos Mendoza has a new job — and it’s in the National League East.

Former New York Mets manager Carlos Mendoza has been hired as the Philadelphia Phillies third base and infield coach. Phillies president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski announced the move on Thursday following several coaching staff adjustments and the signing of manager Don Mattingly to a two-year extension.
Mendoza spent two-and-a-half seasons managing the Mets, guiding them to the 2024 NLCS before being dismissed on June 25 after an early-season slump and a 206-199 record. He joins Mattingly's coaching staff following Philadelphia's recent departures of Kevin Long and Bobby Dickerson.
