Chicago Cubs' pitching prospect Dominick Reid appeared to suffer an injury during his latest AFL start.

Chicago Cubs pitching prospect Dominick Reid suffered an injury scare on Tuesday night while playing for the Mesa Solar Sox in the Arizona Fall League. Reid failed to complete the second inning and was removed alongside a trainer in the middle of an at-bat.
Reid previously missed significant time during the 2026 minor-league season due to an injury sustained in June with the Myrtle Beach Pelicans. Writer Jordan Campbell suggests the Cubs may shut Reid down for the remainder of the AFL season given their past caution with minor-league injuries.
