CLEVELAND -- The Guardians won the American League Central by one game over the White Sox, despite losing the season series, 7-6. That division win earned Cleveland home-field advantage when the two teams met up in the Division Series.

The Chicago White Sox will host the Cleveland Guardians for Game 3 of the American League Division Series on Wednesday at Rate Field. Chicago holds a 2-0 series lead after taking the first two games on the road at Progressive Field, putting the Guardians on the brink of postseason elimination. A victory on Wednesday would send the White Sox to their first ALCS appearance since 2005.
Neither team had officially announced a starting pitcher for Game 3 following Monday's matchup. Guardians manager Stephen Vogt and White Sox manager Will Venable are expected to have all bullpen options available following Tuesday's scheduled off-day, with closer Grant Taylor positioned to anchor Chicago's relief corps.
