After crushing 30th homer, red-hot Elly on precipice of milestone

Elly De La Cruz hit his 30th home run of the season during the Cincinnati Reds' 7-6 victory over the Atlanta Braves on Thursday. The third-inning blast off Tyler Mahle helped Cincinnati take two of three games in the series and brought De La Cruz to within one stolen base of achieving a 30/30 season with three games remaining.

De La Cruz's home run was his ninth in September, setting a Reds franchise record for switch-hitters in a calendar month. Meanwhile, starting pitcher Brady Singer struggled in a no-decision, allowing five runs on seven hits over three innings before heading into free agency.
