Steven Kwan reportedly has been looking for a contract extension from the Cleveland Guardians for a while. But with this offseason arguably more uncertain than any in history, it is even more unlikely that the All-Star outfielder will be successful…

Insider Paul Hoynes reported that the Cleveland Guardians may struggle to re-sign outfielder Steven Kwan because he is nearing free agency after the 2027 season. Contract extension discussions have stalled over the past two years, making a long-term agreement unlikely as Kwan approaches the open market.
Kwan played the past season on a $7.7 million contract and is projected by MLB Trade Rumors to earn $11.3 million via arbitration. Despite moving to center field and overcoming an early slump, the 29-year-old concluded the campaign batting .282/.382/.349.
