CHICAGO -- The level of popularity surrounding José Ramírez as one of Cleveland’s favorite sons is unmatched, save for maybe LeBron James, Bernie Kosar and Superman. Yet here we are, two games into the ALDS, and outside of a couple…

Cleveland Guardians third baseman José Ramírez stated that lingering left wrist pain is "no excuse" for his struggles as the team faces an 0-2 deficit against the Chicago White Sox in the ALDS. Ramírez is hitless through the first two games of the series, mirroring an ice-cold Guardians lineup that has gone 7-for-61 overall heading into Game 3 at Rate Field.
Ramírez has dealt with persistent wrist issues after fracturing his left hamate bone on June 13, managing just two home runs over his final 53 regular-season games. Despite playing well below full health, manager Stephen Vogt voiced confidence in his leader, noting that Ramírez has hit 23 career home runs at Rate Field as a visitor.
