The Story in 60 Seconds

Cleveland Guardians pitcher Tanner Bibee has promised fans that he will bounce back in 2027 following a difficult 2026 campaign. Despite making 33 regular-season starts, Bibee pitched only once during the postseason out of the bullpen. Manager Stephen Vogt largely bypassed him during playoff rounds against the Chicago White Sox and the Tampa Bay Rays, but Bibee stressed his commitment to bringing a World Series championship to Cleveland.

Bibee posted a 7-15 record with a 4.36 ERA across 188 innings in 2026 while enduring historically low run support. He signed a five-year, $48 million contract extension in March 2025 that keeps him with the Guardians through at least 2029. Vogt confirmed that he expects the 27-year-old starter to serve as a key rotation anchor next season.
