The Guardians then secured the American League Central division title and earned a first-round postseason bye after defeating the Kansas City Royals.

Off the field, Guardians prospect Cooper Ingle was named the International League MVP after recording 20 home runs and leading the league with a .952 OPS. Additionally, Guardians fans donated $2,500 to the Kids of Denver charity chosen by Colorado Rockies catcher Hunter Goodman, whose performance against the Chicago White Sox helped Cleveland clinch the division.
