The Milwaukee Brewers host the Tampa Bay Rays for Game 1 of the 2026 World Series, marking the first time since 1980 that two franchises without a previous championship meet in the Fall Classic. Milwaukee advanced after sweeping the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLCS, while Tampa Bay enters its third World Series following an ALCS victory over Cleveland.
Game 1 features a starting pitching matchup between Milwaukee right-hander Jacob Misiorowski and Tampa Bay veteran right-hander Nick Martinez. With neither starter working deep into recent postseason games, both bullpens are expected to play a critical role in the series opener.
