Thomas missed significant time in 2026 due to complications from hamate bone surgery before debuting on July 6, eventually finishing the minor league campaign with Double-A Hartford.
Rockies senior director of player development Chris Forbes highlighted Thomas's urgent need for plate appearances after the interrupted campaign. Through his first 14 AFL games, Thomas hit .239 with one home run and five stolen bases, earning recognition among the league's top performers for Week 3.
