On the 40th anniversary of the Mets winning their last World Series, Darryl Strawberry had no plans Tuesday night to watch the latest iteration of the Fall Classic.

Former New York Mets star Darryl Strawberry expressed his heartbreak over the franchise's 40-year World Series title drought while maintaining faith in the team. Speaking on the anniversary of the 1986 championship victory, Strawberry noted that he had no plans to watch the current World Series because neither New York team was involved.
Strawberry famously helped lead the Mets to their second franchise championship on October 27, 1986, defeating the Boston Red Sox 8-5 in Game 7. Later in his career, Strawberry earned three additional World Series rings across town with the New York Yankees.
