The Tigers are reportedly signing South Korean infielder Nam Hyun-woo, an 18-year-old with a pretty swing and an electric bat flip.

The Detroit Tigers are reportedly set to sign 18-year-old South Korean shortstop Nam Hyun-woo for a $600,000 bonus. According to reporter Francys Romero, the deal is expected to become official when the international signing period opens in January. The agreement represents another move by Tigers president of baseball operations Scott Harris to broaden the franchise's reach in the international market.
Nam attends Seoul Convention High School and previously featured on South Korea's under-18 national team. During his three high school seasons, he recorded a .345 batting average, an .909 OPS, and 25 stolen bases. Anthony Ranaudo notes that Nam will likely face a standard three- to four-year development timeline before potentially reaching the major leagues.
