Tigers Activate Jack Flaherty

The Detroit Tigers have activated right-handed pitcher Jack Flaherty from the 15-day injured list for the final game of the season. Left-hander Brant Hurter was optioned to the Florida Complex League affiliate to open a roster spot. Flaherty had been sidelined since late July due to right flexor inflammation and completed two rehab outings with Triple-A Toledo before returning.

Flaherty is expected to pitch in relief on Sunday behind starter River Ryan. The appearance serves as an opportunity for Flaherty to demonstrate his health ahead of entering free agency this offseason. Detroit previously signed Flaherty to a two-year, $35 million contract prior to the 2025 season.
