The Los Angeles Dodgers are parting ways with co-hitting coach Aaron Bates following a contract impasse. Bates and the organization were unable to agree on terms for a new multi-year deal, prompting an unexpected departure after the club originally aimed to keep its coaching staff intact this offseason.
Bates spent 12 years with the Dodgers organization, serving as an assistant hitting coach from 2019 before becoming co-hitting coach alongside Robert Van Scoyoc ahead of the 2023 season. In that role, he helped guide the team to consecutive World Series titles in 2024 and 2025.
