Shohei Ohtani needs offseason rest, not surgery, for knee and biceps injuries that led to his worst offensive numbers since he joined Los Angeles before the 2024 season.

Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani will require offseason rest rather than surgery to treat knee and biceps injuries, according to president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman. The nagging physical ailments disrupted Ohtani's campaign and contributed to his lowest offensive production since joining the franchise ahead of the 2024 season.
Ohtani did not pitch after July 3 and finished the season with 30 home runs. Despite the setbacks, both Ohtani and the Dodgers plan for him to resume full two-way pitching and hitting duties next year, with the team planning to carefully manage his overall workload.
