Other starters TBD as Tampa weighs its pitching options.

Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Drew Rasmussen delivered a historic performance to lead his team to a 1-0 victory over the New York Yankees in Game 1 of the ALDS. Rasmussen carried a near no-hitter into the eighth inning, pitching eight scoreless frames while striking out 10 batters and tying a franchise postseason record.
Rays manager Kevin Cash showed strong confidence in Rasmussen, allowing him to work deep into the contest. Offensively, Jonathan Aranda provided the game's lone run with a 417-foot solo home run. The 98-win Rays now hold a 1-0 series advantage heading into Game 2 against New York.
