The Houston Astros interviewed Oz Ocampo on Monday for an assistant general manager position, according to reports from Francys Romero and Brian McTaggart. Ocampo previously worked with Houston from 2012 to 2020 and again in 2022, primarily in international scouting and player development. He is credited with helping the club discover key international talents, including Framber Valdez, Cristian Javier, and Yuli Gurriel.
Houston's front office has undergone significant shifts since dismissing general manager Dana Brown in August. While owner Jim Crane oversees operations alongside advisors and internal staff, the club is actively searching for a front office leader while considering Ocampo for an assistant general manager role.
