The Houston Astros are acquiring a 27-year-old pitcher from the Tampa Bay Rays, according to FanSided's Robert Murray.

The Houston Astros are acquiring 27-year-old right-handed pitcher Evan Reifert from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for cash. The trade, initially reported by FanSided's Robert Murray and confirmed by Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times, provides the Rays with roster relief ahead of Rule 5 protection deadlines while adding bullpen depth to Houston's organization.
Reifert recorded a 2.48 ERA with 81 strikeouts across 58 innings at Triple-A Durham this season and has not yet made his MLB debut. Over six minor-league seasons, he holds a 2.91 ERA and relies on a low-80s slider alongside a sinker and four-seam fastball averaging around 94 mph.
