Joe Girardi isn't blaming Aaron Boone for the Yankees' shortcomings, but believes a deeper-rooted culture issue may have contributed to the team's ALDS sweep.
Former New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi stated that the team may have a deeper-rooted culture and clubhouse issue following their ALDS sweep. Speaking on The Show with Joel Sherman and Jon Heyman, Girardi pointed to poor fundamentals and questioned whether players are being properly held accountable for repeated postseason blunders.
Girardi defended current manager Aaron Boone, arguing that the early playoff exit was not Boone's fault after navigating injuries to achieve the AL's second-best record. Instead, Girardi highlighted costly errors by Austin Wells and Jazz Chisholm Jr., insisting someone needs to step up and demand accountability.
