The Story in 60 Seconds

The Hanwha Eagles have asked the Korean Baseball Organization to post third baseman Si Hwan Roh for Major League Baseball teams this offseason. Once the posting window officially opens, the 25-year-old infielder will have 30 days to reach a deal with an MLB club. The Eagles would receive a tiered posting fee based on the total value of any major league contract he signs.

Roh previously signed an 11-year extension worth roughly $23 million with Hanwha that begins in 2027, which included an agreement allowing him to pursue an MLB deal this winter. If he fails to sign or eventually returns to the KBO, he is contractually bound to the Eagles. In 2026, Roh batted .283 with 29 home runs for Hanwha.
