Alek Thomas leads Oklahoma City to Triple-A championship

Center fielder Alek Thomas drove in three runs with a 10th-inning double to propel the Oklahoma City Comets to a 5-3 extra-inning victory against the Rochester Red Wings in Las Vegas. The win on Saturday secured the Triple-A championship for the Comets, marking the first time a Los Angeles Dodgers affiliate has captured the title since the event was established in 2006. Thomas was named game MVP following his performance.

Oklahoma City rallied from a 2-0 deficit in the eighth inning thanks to an RBI single from Mike Sirota and a game-tying double by Ryan Fitzgerald. Reliever Seth Halvorsen escaped a ninth-inning jam and pitched the 10th to close out the game, striking out Leandro Pineda for the final out after starter Emmet Sheehan struck out seven across 5 1/3 innings.
