Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani will not require surgery on his knee or biceps and is expected to be fully healthy for Spring Training, president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman confirmed Wednesday. Friedman also stated that Ohtani will resume his two-way role in 2027, although the team has not yet finalized specific workload limitations. Ohtani struggled with injuries down the stretch in 2026 after a strong first half, missing late-season time and not pitching after July 3.
Meanwhile, Dodgers reliever Will Klein underwent an elbow procedure to remove bone chips but should be ready for Spring Training. In addition, Friedman announced that manager Dave Roberts and the rest of the coaching staff are expected to return in 2027 for Roberts' 12th season.
