The Los Angeles Dodgers have re-signed veteran utility player Tyler Fitzgerald to a one-year Minor League contract, according to a report from Baseball America. The 29-year-old was previously among 13 Minor League free agents from the Dodgers organization this offseason. The new deal is expected to include an invitation to Major League Spring Training in 2027 as a non-roster invitee.
Fitzgerald originally joined the Dodgers in April 2026 via a cash trade from the Toronto Blue Jays after spending parts of three prior seasons with the San Francisco Giants. Known for his elite sprint speed and defensive versatility across all infield and outfield positions, Fitzgerald provides organizational depth. Separately, catcher Ben Rortvedt opted out of his contract to enter free agency.
