Tarik Skubal pitched the Los Angeles Dodgers to victory over the Atlanta Braves in Game 1 of the National League Division Series amid 100-degree heat at Dodger Stadium. The left-hander allowed one run across six innings while striking out seven batters, lowering his career postseason ERA to 1.97.
Skubal retired 15 consecutive batters following a leadoff single and reached 101.1 mph on a fastball to Austin Riley in the second inning. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts praised the opening victory as the team prepares to start Blake Snell in Game 2.
