On this day in Los Angeles Dodgers history, Max Muncy hit a walk-off home run against the Boston Red Sox in the 18th inning of Game 3 of the 2018 World Series. The blast concluded the longest game in World Series history by both time and innings, lasting seven hours and 20 minutes across two calendar days.
Muncy's decisive homer came off Red Sox pitcher Nathan Eovaldi after the teams traded runs across multiple extra innings. The historic victory marked only the second walk-off home run in Dodgers World Series history, joining Kirk Gibson's famous 1988 blast.
