‘A lot of confidence’: Marsee finishing gritty ’26 season on high note

Miami Marlins center fielder Jakob Marsee has produced a strong finish to his 2026 campaign after enduring extensive struggles early in the year. Despite hovering near the Mendoza Line for much of the season, Marsee retained the backing of Miami manager Clayton McCullough and the organization, who never considered optioning him to Triple-A Jacksonville.

From August 7 through Saturday's 8-3 loss against the Atlanta Braves, Marsee batted .309/.418/.497 across 44 games. Hitting coach Pedro Guerrero credited Marsee's elite plate discipline metrics, including high percentiles in chase and walk rates, for helping fuel the second-half resurgence.
