Mariners Interested In Jason Kanzler For Managerial Vacancy

The Seattle Mariners are considering Jason Kanzler alongside Joe Espada and Rocco Baldelli for their open managerial position. According to a report from The Athletic, the team's managerial search has entered an advanced stage following the departure of former manager Dan Wilson last month. Other candidates remain in the mix as Seattle looks to fill the dugout vacancy.

Kanzler, 36, currently serves as the Chicago Cubs' director of player development after previously working on the Houston Astros' major league coaching staff. While experienced candidates like Espada and Baldelli offer past managerial experience, Mariners president of baseball operations Jerry Dipoto indicated the club is balancing a preference for experience with a desire for fresh ideas.
