Minnesota Twins No. 17 prospect Yasser Mercedes is competing with the Salt River Rafters in the Arizona Fall League. After spending over three seasons in Florida complex and affiliate leagues, the outfielder earned a promotion to High-A Cedar Rapids in 2026. The Twins assigned him to the Fall League to gain valuable plate appearances against higher-level competition before next season.
Mercedes displayed impressive speed by leading the Twins organization with 52 stolen bases in 2026. Although he hit 12 home runs in 88 games at High-A, he experienced an adjustment period, batting .232. Farm director Drew MacPhail emphasized that Mercedes is focusing on offensive consistency, balance at the plate, and continuing his defensive development in center field.
