The Story in 60 Seconds

The Minnesota Twins announced on Thursday that Anthony Banda, Tristan Gray, and Aaron Sabato have cleared waivers and been outrighted off the 40-man roster. The roster moves make all three players free agents as Minnesota begins clearing space during the offseason. The outrights bring Minnesota's roster down to 43 players, with five players currently on the 60-day injured list not counting toward the limit.

Banda, who underwent surgery for a season-ending left lat strain, is expected to be sidelined until at least July. Gray appeared in 66 games as a utility player during the 2026 season, while Sabato, Minnesota's 2020 first-round draft pick, made his major league debut in September.
