Will Rob Manfred get his way with more changes to the sport?

Major League Baseball owners have proposed significant structural changes to the sport, including shortening the regular season from 162 to 154 games. The proposal also features a revamped postseason format that would expand the Division Series and allow qualifying teams to choose their playoff opponents.
The proposals arrive as MLB and the MLB Players Association prepare for potential labor negotiations, with the current Collective Bargaining Agreement expiring on December 1. Disagreements between the league and players over economic structures and scheduling have raised concerns about a potential lockout ahead of future seasons.
