New York Mets prospect Cole Mathis hit a game-tying solo home run in the eighth inning on Sunday to help the Surprise Saguaros secure a 5-4 victory over the Glendale Desert Dogs. The blast marked Mathis's first home run since joining the Mets organization from the Chicago Cubs in June. Mathis finished the game 1-for-4, bringing his Arizona Fall League record to 2-for-15 through four games.
Fellow Mets position prospects Boston Baro and Bruin Agbayani also featured in the win, with Agbayani scoring two runs despite going hitless. The Surprise Saguaros, who improved to a 4-3 record, also feature five Mets pitching prospects, none of whom pitched during Sunday's contest.
