The New York Mets acquired Freddy Peralta from the Milwaukee Brewers in the offseason, hoping he could be their ace. Peralta was a two-time All-Star with the Brewers, but struggled in Queens.
Former New York Mets pitcher Freddy Peralta has earned the American League Championship Series MVP Award after a dominant resurgence with the Tampa Bay Rays. Peralta, acquired by New York from the Milwaukee Brewers, posted a 4.99 ERA in 22 starts with the Mets before being dealt to Tampa Bay, where he recorded a 0.79 ERA across six regular-season starts.
Following Peralta's ALCS MVP achievement, former Mets teammate Juan Soto praised the pitcher on Instagram. Peralta will now make his career World Series debut against his former club, the Brewers, prior to reaching free agency.
