A New York Mets prospect duo added via trade this summer have struggled to do much at the plate through their first 24 Arizona Fall League at-bats.

New York Mets prospects Cole Mathis and Bruin Agbayani have experienced a slow start in the Arizona Fall League, combining for just 2 hits in their first 24 at-bats. Both players were acquired in separate trades during the season and are currently teammates on the Surprise Saguaros roster.
Mathis is 1-for-11 with four walks after missing time with a wrist injury, while 19-year-old Agbayani is 1-for-13 with six strikeouts. Writer Tim Boyle notes that while the small sample size is no reason to panic, both top-30 prospects are attempting to make up for lost regular-season development time.
