New York Mets prospect Ryan Lambert had more than control problems in 2026.

New York Mets pitching prospect Ryan Lambert struggled significantly during the 2026 season with Triple-A Syracuse. Tim Boyle writes that Lambert failed to reach the majors after posting a 7.71 ERA over 25.2 innings, severely hampered by a 9.8 BB/9 walk rate and an inability to keep the ball on the ground.
Beyond control issues, Boyle highlights Lambert's low 25% groundball-to-flyball rate and four home runs allowed. Lambert is participating in the Arizona Fall League to rebound, with Boyle arguing that developing a third pitch like a sinker could help him reach the majors.
