Yankees’ Aaron Judge Says He Plans To Be Ready For Wild Card Series

New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge intends to play in Game 1 of the Wild Card Series despite dealing with a calf injury. Judge went on the injured list after exiting a Sept. 16 game, with tests later revealing a moderate-grade soleus strain. Manager Aaron Boone indicated the team is preparing to be without Judge for the series, though he has not officially ruled him out.

Judge received a PRP injection on Monday and stated his plan is to prepare his body to play. If Judge is cleared, he would likely be restricted to serving as the designated hitter. That adjustment would force Boone to restructure the infield and lineup configurations featuring players such as Ben Rice, Paul Goldschmidt, Luis Garcia Jr., and Jazz Chisholm Jr.
