Pitcher Alexander Cornielle has cleared waivers and remained with the New York Yankees organization after being designated for assignment late in the season. The move originally occurred to make room for Giancarlo Stanton's activation from the 60-day injured list ahead of the postseason.

After going unclaimed by rival teams, Cornielle was outrighted to the Florida Complex League. The 24-year-old right-hander made his MLB debut in the final game of the regular season against the Baltimore Orioles after spending the majority of the campaign with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
