The Baltimore Orioles have hired Jared Banner as general manager to work alongside team president Mike Elias.
The Baltimore Orioles announced on Monday that they have hired Jared Banner as general manager to work alongside president Mike Elias. Banner arrives from the Chicago Cubs, where he served as assistant general manager starting in 2024. He previously held roles as vice president of player development and vice president of special projects for Chicago.
Banner's appointment comes as the Orioles aim to bounce back from two disappointing seasons, winning 75 games in 2025 and 79 in 2026. A Brooklyn native, Banner spent 11 years in the Boston Red Sox front office and worked with the New York Mets before joining the Cubs in late 2020.
