A fact that may interest you about Steward Berroa: His name is Steward, not Stewart as most people probably assumed when they heard it for the first time. (I tried to find a way to work in a Denethor joke.)…
Writer Smarty Jones evaluated Steward Berroa's 2026 season with the Philadelphia Phillies, assigning the outfielder a "D" grade. The Phillies acquired Berroa from the Milwaukee Brewers in early June and primarily kept him at Triple-A Lehigh Valley, though he appeared in six major league games.
Smarty Jones argues that Berroa's destiny appears to be a "Quad-A" player due to offensive limitations. Berroa batted .143 with -0.1 WAR for the Phillies and hit .251 with five home runs in the minors, though he posted a .363 on-base percentage and stole 15 bases.
